
Omiš is a small middalmatian town situated in the mouth of river Cetina and it lays 21 km southeast of Split. It was once a great pirate sanctuary from where they used to attack ships traveling. Nowdays, Omiš is the centre of the Riviera of incredible beauty, situated in the very heart of the Adriatic sea and it presents one of the major centres of Croatian active tourism.

Under the administration of Lika Museum Gospić, there is a corresponding unit called Nikola Tesla Memorial Centre which has been opened since July,10th. 2006., which is the date of 150.th anniversary of Tesla's birth.
